Your Baby at 2 Months Old
During the second month, the baby will begin adapting to his or her environment and the parent will begin adapting to the baby's temperament.
Feeding at 2 Months
The Baby will still only need breast milk or formula. Baby foods or cereal is recommended when the baby gets to be 4-6 months.
Sleep at 2 Months The Baby will probably be more alert and awake during the day. It is a good idea to wake the baby up if he or she is sleeping 4-5 hours during the day. Waking the baby up at night for a feeding is also good. It is a good time to consider moving the baby to his or her own room at the age of two months.
Growth and Development at 2 Months The Baby's head will still be wobbly but the neck muscles are starting to become stronger. At the end of two months the baby may be able to lift his or her head when lying on his or her belly. The baby may now be able to focus on things 6-12 inches from his or her eyes. Sucking becomes a very gratifying activity for the baby, and he or she will now try to get hands, fingers, objects, and whatever else he or she can into his or her mouth.
